Re: Anything for sale?

That's the only ting I can think about at the moment too, and after Kim brought it up... The tops of the front fenders can rust through from the bottom. There isn't much room between hte under fender structure and top of the fenders. When dirt and such gets up there it doesn't always come back out. Instead it collects moisture and start the rust process. If the fenders aren't rusted through, a good under fneder cleaning with a power washer (or spray car wash) on occasion keeps them retty much rust free. If the car needs paint, pull the front fenders before painting. That's for ANY AMC (and a good idea for other makes too). Most unit body cars have areas under the fenders that can rust unseen. Out of sight, out of mind -- until the damage is done. So pull the fenders before paint, clean, prime, spray bomb, and if there is enough room spray some rubberized undercoating on. Good for another 20+ years!! If the paint is good, just pressure wash under the wheel wells real good once or twice a year and make sure drain holes or open -- in the lower edges of the doors too. A TSM will show where the drain holes are located. For an idea about the Gremlin, check out the 73 TSM on-line (body section) -- http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/AMC/1973/Service/
