for a start, if you have a b&b type pressure plate, get a diaphragm
type.  they have a much flatter 'spring curve', so they can generate
the required clamping force with less pedal effort.  they can handle
more disc wear without slipping too.

also, the larger the clutch, the less pressure it'll need.  an 11"
would be more desireable than a 10.5", and if you can find [and fit] a
jeep-ish 12" that would need even less pressure to carry the hp.
