1971 Gremlin Turbo

Many thanks to those who responded to my initial post. Here's the way it
looks to me. Since the BW is working OK except for the 1-2 shift I'll leave
alone for the present. Since I missed the TF by one year that makes things
tough. Are there adapters for the TF or Hydramatic models that will work
with my engine? I'd actually like to use an overdrive model so if I go to a
3.31-3.54 gear it won't rev too much if I decide to go on the highway. I
expect the BW has lasted because it won't make full power shifts. As far as
the rear axle goes there is a shop that seems to do a lot of Jeep and
Cherokee work and I may talk to them. The manager has a sharp looking Jeep
that he uses for trail riding, I think he has a modified Chevy 350 in it.
Never did get a guess on horsepower for my setup. Before I installed the
turbo I had Clifford headers, a Carter 2bbl carb on an Edelbrock S.P.2.P
manifold, Mallory dual-point ignition, Accel coil, mild port and polish job
on the head, and the Comp Cam camshaft. It ran strong and I wondered if I
had about as much HP as the H.O.4.0. With the turbo and the Holley 500 carb
it's a lot stronger, so I figure I'm certainly over 200 HP, don't know how
much. When I had my engine rebuilt they installed Keith Black pistons, heavy
duty bearings, hardened valve seats, dual Chevy valve springs to go along
with the rest of the high performance parts so I'll run this engine until it
breaks. If it breaks, in goes a V-8. Any more comments on what might work?
Thanks!
