Re:Shifter linkage adjustment on my '62

This is how I corrected the same problem on my 1964 Classic Wagon. Possibly the shifter/column is similar. The plastic bushing at the end of the column is retained with two hex head screws(5/16 head). The screws go through slots not holes in the column. The slots are angled such that when you twist the bushing it adjusts the play in the levers. Loosen the screws, twist the bushing and tighten the screws. I am going by memory here, this was in 1971, good luck.

Guys -

I checked my '62 TSM to find the shifter linkage
adjustment procedure, but did not find it in there.
This is my for '62 wagon project that I wrote about
last week that keeps getting stuck in first and does
not engage in reverse. It's a manual transmission.

If anyone can share or point me to where to find the
linkage adjustment procedure, I will be forever
greatful!

Thanks,

Justin
