I don't recall any of mine being that way Jay, but I've not had a
wide variety of drivers long enough to change all the hoses. I
don't recall any hoses made that way, but you can get reducers that
fit in-line with the hose. For a driver they should be fine, and
may have to be okay for a restored car if that's all that's
available now. Try one of the AMC vendors though.

Is there a source for the heater hoses for the 60s Ramblers? I

The hose off the water pump (on the six) that feeds the heater is
indeed 3/4" on one end and 5/8" on the other, or some pair of not-the-
same sizes. I never tried to buy a 'real' one. Being a damn Yankee I
simply use gasket sealer (Indian Head type) as a 'lube' and force
regular hose over the large cast nipple. Lasts as long as hose ever
lasts, three or four cars done that way never had problems, 'last 20
years. It's obvious that stretching a hose that much can't be good,
but there you go.
