Re: 1984 AMC Eagle and Intake Manfold ID

Not sure on the intake but the problems with the Eagle are typical. More
than likely, the exhaust leak is actually from the eir tubes for the
emissions. There are repair kits but they are a PIA. The Eagle does
have the air ride suspension that keeps the car level if you load up the
back. The compressors are known to seize up from condensation or an air
line can break and the thing will run the battery dead. Not really a bad
system if it all works OK.

The heater core is a nightmare. I assume it has AC since it is a
limited?

The valve cover is again, typical for the era. The best thing to do is
get an aluminum replacement valve cover from 4WD hardware or some
similar place. The plastic ones will always leak. For seeing what is
involved with the changeout go to

If you buy the Eagle come join us on the Eagle forum. There are a lot of
us crazy people out there that love these old beasts.

Good luck
