Joe, I seem to recall that the older cars that never had a disk brake option have a slightly smaller diameter in the center. Not much, just enough they won't fit on disk brake hubs withoutsome "help". If the wheels won't fit the back either, they might not be original wheels. 40+ year old car could have had Ford or Chrysler wheels subbed at some time. Jamie, as far as I can remember there is no real difference between the 84 and 86 Eagles -- nothing to recommend buying one over the other anyway. The valve cover might be metal on the 86, I forget when AMC changed back to a metal cover.
