I don't think you can say that the Cross Country only applies to the hardtop waggies. I offer up as "proof" my AMC postcard collection. All of the '58 and '59 year big wagon postcards are labeled as "Cross Country", both hardtops and posts, including plain wagons, Supers, Customs, and Ambos. The hardtops are labeled as "Cross Country Hardtop Wagon".
