Make sure you get a direct port injection model (injector for each cylinder), which would be 91 and later. Second best is the TBI model, 87-90. Pre 87 models use a carb and you really don't want one of those. Power ratings are: HP Torque MPI 123@5250 139@3250 TBI 117@5000 135@3500 Carb 105@5000 132@2800 Not much difference in torque, but sure is in HP! Don't worry much about the extra wiring for the TBI/MPI -- it isn't hard as long as you lift the entire Jeep wiring harness. You will need low gears -- 4.10 with the five speed would be about right. With 3.73 you might be okay, but would be shifting a lot between 4th and 5th. Eagles with four cylinders and XJ/YJ Jeeps came with 4.10 gears with autos and five speeds. The axles are a bit wide for a Spirit (about 2" wider), but can be used with deep offset wheels. Jeep wheels will work, just use a spacer between the front spindles and steering knuckle to push them out the same as the back.
