It could be a pre 67 wheel Bill. I believe the change to Saginaw (GM) steering columns occurred in 66 or 67. Pre GM columns are totally different and would have a different part number. That is a good call on the engineering numbers -- to bad they didn't take the obvious route and just use the same number!
