" From: "Jim Blair" <carnuck@xxxxxxxxxxx> " " A: 2.8L was a 1 year wonder in the Comanche pickups. (good reason too!) At " least the end of '86 production often got the better version of the 2.8. The " one with wider rod and main bearings and internally balanced so they lasted " longer. I'm on the jeepcomanche@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx list as well. all the small gm v6s after '86 were internally balanced, including the 3.4 crate longblock specifically intended to replace early 2.8s in the s10. this works in jeeps too but only comes with a flexplate and you can't even use that with the jeep tranny. [the trick is to remove the balance weight from the original 2.8 flexplate] that late-'86 flywheel would be the ticket for a 3.4 into a stick 2.8 jeep. i suspect it's the same as the '88-'92 s10 2.8 'wheel; i know camaro 'wheels are different, much thicker. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought
