Jerry, IIRC the housing is one piece. I've never seen a two piece one. If it is cracked you can get a replacement from any 4.0L At some point in the 90's they changed the filter threads from metric back to standard. With the standard threaded adapter you can use a larger filter if you wish. Make sure you get all the stuff from what ever engine you pull it from if you get a used setup.
