'94 Jeep Sport Cherokee purchase - synopsis of condition, post-purchase

After having it delivered today, I made the rounds
to various "legal" destinations for tags, Emissions,
Inspection, County sticker, etc. Got all but the final
2nd trip to Motor Vehicles for permanent
tags/stickers. But the golden tan jeep is now residing
in my driveway and is legal! ( Ok, I need to call the
Insurance agent tomorrow, I forgot today...).
After driving it a bit, I noticed on a quick
side-to-side avoidance maneuver ( for pot-hole, rock,
etc ), the vehicle would make a disconcerting side to
side 2nd wobble. VERY unnerving the first time I did
it, I got used to it after "playing" with the handling
of the Jeep going to various destinations. Is this a
characteristic of the SUV handling? Or should I look
for shock failure?
  The A/C wasn't freezer-cold, but adequate. I won't
fry, but I won't be making ice cubes, either. The
driver's door armrest/pull handle had pulled out of
the top part, so I'll have to be gentle when pulling
the door closed, until I can find out how to fix that.
The dash area was filthy with dust and grunge, so
after my mad dashes around the area to get it legal, I
took it to the car wash, then home and spray-wiped it
down inside, too. Looks much nicer now. Seats are
stained, but not transferably so.
After looking it over, I notice rust spots starting
from the top windshield trim at the roofline. Other
than that obvious showing, there's not much. Some rust
bubbling at the top windshield pillar/roof junctions.
Even my wife commented that it's a "much nicer vehicle
than any I've seen you with". LOL!. Very true, it's
been years since I've had a nice enough vehicle to
really care about. Most have been get-in-and-drive
types. I hope to take better care of this Jeep than I
have of my other drivers.
So, with luck, this Jeep will serve my needs for a
number of years to come. I'm sure I'll be learning
more about it from you folks here, as I've learned
about the AMC cars themselves. Thanks again for all
the inputs, it'll help me keep track of weak areas to
look for failures in.
And now, my Jeep adventure begins...
