Musclecar Enthusiast

I think Jock mentioned the latest issue a few days ago
here on the list.

I second his comments about the issue. The cover shot
is a new Dave Snyder painting showing a collection of
Dave's personal ten most wanted musclecars. A BBG AMX
is featured almost front and center.

An article by lister Rich Truesdell features a tour of
the hinterlands in New Jersey with four musclecars
including two AMCs. Rich, you're getting better with
age.

The article with the full size 1966 Galaxie was
poignant to me because I worked in the L&N rail yards
just outside the Ford assembly plant in Louisville, Ky
in the summer of 1966. We loaded many of those big
boats on triple-decked rail cars for shipment all over
the U.S. We also loaded Ford heavy trucks because the
heavy trucks were only assembled in Louisville. It
was a treat, as a college kid, to climb in a diesel
cabover and have someone flag you onto a rail car with
only two or three inches of clearance to spare on each
side. We unloaded Fairlanes, Mustangs, and pickups
from other Ford plants for delivery by truck in the
Midwest. I particularly remember two Ford
Thunderbolts which were destined for a racing team in
Michigan. Those cars both got a workout in the
parking lot. It was hot, dirty work, but driving all
those new cars and trucks was fun, even when they had
been closed up tight in the sometimes 100 degree heat
and humidity.
