Folks, I mentioned a few days ago that Peninsula Auto Wreckers in Prunedale, CA has a 1964 Classic 4 door for sale. I looked the car over today and consulted The Standard Catalog of American Motors. I found that the car is pretty unique. According to the Catalog only SIX model 660 4doors got the 232 typhoon six in 1964. A little over 2000 Classics were made with the 232 all tolled. Most of those, of course, were hardtop "typhoon" labelled 770s. I will photograph this car and write it up for the AMCRC newsletter. The price has been reduced. You can now buy the car for $500. It is very straight but needs paint and upholstery. I plan to hear it run next Tuesday, when the yard manager will be back on duty. The yard manager has agreed not to crush the car, but I do know that promises have been broken before. Please contact me if you are interested in this car. It appears to have spent its whole life here on the central cost but there is none of the telltale salt air surface rust, so the car must have been garaged at least part of it's life.
