Squiggly push rods

I stopped by the machine shop this morning to check on the status of my wagon's engine and I got the low down on what was making all the racket.

All of the intake valves at one point or another decided to give the pistons a little kiss. One of them was apparently feeling a little more amorous than the rest and kissed the piston hard enough to result in a slightly S shaped push rod.

They were also having trouble finding a set of .030 over pistons (I wish they would have called me about that) for it so I found a set this morning which will not be there until next Thursday or Friday. I'm hoping to be able to take the wagon to the Ed Anderson meet in Dayton, OH (site of the 2006 AMO nationals) on the 24th so it looks like it will be a mad rush to get the car running again (thank goodness I have plenty of vacation to use up!).
