Noticed my PCV hose was cracked this afternoon so I went to local parts store to get a new hose. All well and good until I attached the end to the carb base plate, and of course broke the off the nipple there. Break is not the word really,.. it crumbled to pieces!! In retrospect, I should have been more gentle, but it WAS also 40 years old.. I have a couple years on the car and I am getting brittle too, oh well... Lesson learned.. I thought about taping in a brass nipple, but could not find anything that was not massive in size locally.. (very small town here, two "supermarket" parts stores). Came up with a temp fix of a section of brake line, flared cut end so both ends are flared, then filed the remainding void after inseerting the tube into the base plate with JB weld, other end the typical brake line male nipple to accomodate the hose. Will know tomorrow if it will hold/work.. Oh, local yard that has three AMC's left, all were 1BBl carbs. So, I need a base for a 2BBl Carter, with a good nipple.. Anyone... Anyone... OR... Should I look for an alternate/upgrade for the carb ('65 232cu). All assistance and/or ridicule will both be accepted equally... ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
