Well, a 4.0 has up to 195hp, depending on the application. How much power did the 360 V8 have from 1974-78? Two fewer cylinders, fuel injection, computerized engine management...I'd say that a Matador 4.0 would be as fast as a 360 Matador, and probably get somewhat better mileage than a (or even a '74 232-equipped) model of the day.

By the way, it's good to be back after about 3 years of absence. Does anyone remember Rhettro76? That's me now.

I have an '89 Cherokee 4.0 with a 5sp. stick
2dr. in Black as a daily driver.

Forget it. Eats fuel and JUST manages
to move the Box around.

It is too small for that big a ride.

Bigger in BIG is Better >
