now all you have to do is find those natural gas filling stations -
frequently, since it can't carry much cng...

There's a home recharge unit called "Phill". Fills overnight for an equiv. cost of < $1.50 gallon. The car has only a 250 mi range so it's meant as a city commuter. Considering how many cars are here in Los Angeles it would be perfect here.

and how does one rate the emissions of biodiesel, since they all came
out of the air to grow the plants in the first place? does a
biodiesel vehicle thus have zero [net] emissions?

Well, burning it moves the carbon from the ground to the air, but I see your point :-) We'll increment our way there eventually.

We're going to Burning Man (desert N. of Gerlach, NV) on Wed, in the Rambler (63 Classic wagon), (LP is somewhat more available on the road than NG) which is well outfit for deep desert camping. I hope to get the A/C charged in the morning for the drive out! First time in 18 years I'll have a car with A/C!
