A: Wrangler flexplate "looks" just like the Eagle one with a CPS ring added. I think the offset is slightly different, so it would need the matching TJ starter. (there may be a slight casting difference in the 999 case to allow for the different starter) The Renix header with front pipe bolted right into my '84 J10 (I still needed a custom trans mount, but I'll see how the AW4 with HO JGC 4.0L trans mount works very soon.) The 4.0L will bolt " right to your 998 and the computer will have no problem with the trans. " You will either have to modify your bell housing for the CPS (crankshaft " position sensor) and the AW4 flexplate (required for the stock CPS) for " the TF torque converter a wrangler flexplate should be right from the get-go, as they used tf autos all through the '90s. another thought: if you get a wrangler 4.0/tranny pkg, compare the tranny output with yours. there shouldn't be any difference but relevant parts will swap if there is. " With " the Eagle you need the 87-90 intake (Renix computer, has an EGR valve, " but can be modified to use later electronics) or a 99+ intake from a " Grand Cherokee. Otherwise you will have a clearance issue with the power " brake booster. another point - the exhaust. the '87-'90 'renix' header fits eagles without clearance issues, but the '91-8 'ho' one needs some bending. for the '99-up iron split manifolds, just have your muffler shop fab a y-pipe to suit. " I'd run the late 2V intake with a 2V to 4V adapter with a Holley 390 or " 450 cfm 4V carb. That makes a much nicer setup than the old BBD 2V " carb! A lot of Jeepers do just that, works great for low to mid speed " torque, not as good as a real 4V intake for higher speeds. You could " also get the BBD off a late model 318 from a rear drive 80s Dodge " Diplomat/Chrysler New Yorker. Use the base plate and top off the AMC " BBD. The 318 BBD has 1/16" larger bores in the center section, the same " size base and top. Base and top are slightly different between the AMC " and Chryco versions, that's why the switch. later 318s and 225s switched from the bbd to a holley 2280. it swaps right into place - on them. it would take some linkage work - and i think choke work - to slip onto an amc. btw i've heard the 318 bbd rated ~350cfm.
