A: I have run into this with my '73 J4000. It happens more with any gas that has alcohol in it. Higher the content of alcohol (or MTBE) the more it sprays back. (although temps are part of that) I just fixed it by changing the filler pipe with one from an XJ. So far no blowback (my filler is now inside the box though. The old one will stay on the outside to fool gas thieves) Message-ID: <20050825030945.38435.qmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 24 Aug 2005 20:09:45 -0700 (PDT) From: <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: puking American To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Anyone have problems with the gas tank puking after filling up? Even if they pump it slow, it still pukes. My vent is clear. I think that plastic sleeve is shutting the vent closed. I'm thinking of running a vent tube from the top of the rubber inside the trunk to exit somewhere, that way the rubber sleeve wont cover it. Here in Oregon we can't pump our own gas and most of the pump jockeys have no clue at all....Russ
