Well, it all depends on just how much you have tied up in the car. If $500 or less sounds like after you get the parts you need want you probably broke even. If more, well, you took a bit of trouncing, but ya gotta gamble on one every now and then. Maybe he meant it was put in the shop two years ago, and got flooded at the shop? That AM/FM radio is a great find -- they sell for over $100 not working. It would be a perfect candidate for conversion to modern electronics, but that cost around $300. If you're not concerned about the buttons and dial being accurate, you could take a cheap shaft AM/FM (they all have cassette now I tink, but that could be cut out) and mount the guts. You do a little electronics tinkering, right? Shouldn't be to hard to move the shaft tuner and volume controls to the Rambler faceplate. The entire front comes off the radio, I have the front in my car with the light behind the dial, but no one's home! The EFI computer is behind the face plate and the push buttons are screwed to it. A standard DIN CD receiver is mounted under the dash. The tilt column is another good find -- $150-200 in good condition. To bad aboutthe console. The shifter is probably salvageable if not badly rusted. The button will be the critical part. It will work with an AW4 or TF auto with a little ingenuity. You can save the power windows even if you have to replace the motors. The mechanism and switches are the hard parts, and you have the wiring. All that's worth $200 or so as well. Throw in the odd and end items you'll be using and it might not be such a bad deal. Not a steal by any means, but not as bad as it appears. It is tight and the tunr signal switch is tight and the steering wheela nd horn ring appear to be perfect! Egine is not siezed. Carb is free but has been converted to hand choke. radiator may be good, trans seems to be clear of water. Car has an AM-Fm radio, that may be a goood candidate for a rebuild. I will have to check it out before I can tell. It had Reverb, but has been dissconnected and I con't know if it can be repaired/restored. I am real doubtfull of the condition of the power windows, but will try to save them too. > Buctket seats covers are shot. Rear seat vinyl is good but canvas is rotted. It has a center armrest settup. I know this won't fit the convertible. Car has rusty quarters/fenders and is just generally not a good candidate to save after being flooded. it had about 2 incehs of dried mud in it. I shovelled most of it out. > I will be parting this out! Most of the stuff will go to the convertible. But some stuff will be solde off.
