Re: Found a really good degreaser

A: We sell LOTS of that stuff and I sure think it smells better than the
Castrol Superclean I put into my parts washer. (Castrol stuff makes me feel
like I have pneumonia every time I use it, but MAN does it do a
supercleaning job! I cleaned a '66 Mobile home and discovered everything
wasn't originally drak brown! Bathroom was PINK! Kitchen appliances were
avocado! Walls were light chestnut and not dark oak! Curtains and 1/2 bath
were originally white! And I'm serious that you couldn't tell! I even have
pics!)

I decided that I needed to get cracking on cleaning up all the hardware I
took off of the wagon's engine since it's now at a machine shop getting
checked out. I stopped by an Advance Auto Parts and picked up some stuff
called Purple Power and gave it a try. None of the hardware I'm cleaning up
is particularly filthy but most of the goo that was on it came off just by
a quick swish in it. If you let parts soak long enough, it will take all of
the paint off of them as well (which is perfect for what I'm doing). What's
really nice about this stuff is that it doesn't stink (nice change of pace
from B9 Chemtool) and it's inexpensive (about $4.50 for the gallon jug I
bought, they also have 2.5 and 5 gallon containers).
