I don't notice any shudder on braking at all. Most likely due to my spring setup. To recap, What I have done is doubled the longest leaf, but not the main leaf. I think I may have doubled two leafs, but I would need to crawl under and take a peak to figure it out. I would think the extra long leaf would help keep any shuddering down. The only thing I notice is a vibration when I slightly release the throttle. I'm not sure if that is in the pinion angle needing adjusted slightly or if it is inherent in the manual trans and backlash. I had a similar vibration in my 84 Mustang GT with a T-5 at highway speeds. So it my just be "the way it is". What I meant to say about the rear is I still have the original rubber bushings in the spring eyes and they are still there and not loose, but are shot, dried and flaking. I need to get them out of there. I have the Urethane ones to go in. I'm a little nervous as to what they will do for ride, but I can always swap them back to rubber later if it is too harsh. The roads around here are rough and hilly. I expected to be unhappy with the urethane bushings in the front, but honestly even with 205'60R 15 front tires at 35 psi,gas shocks and used V-8 coils the American still rides better then my wifes 98 Nissan Altima, which if you remember was advertised for it's "quiet ride"!
