I'm not sure about the gear, what was stock in 1971 with a 258? I do know it always sounded like it needed another gear to shift into, anyone know? ~John -----Original Message----- From: farna@xxxxxxx [mailto:farna@xxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, August 13, 2005 9:55 AM To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: 4.0 Humpster Update The 4.0L has just abnout the same power as a stock 76 360. Plus it's a bit lighter! Car should be a dream to drive. My 4.6L is great, though I need to bump the idle up just a hair, and get a bigger throttle body. The AW4 is good, but I sure would like a five speed! I don't think I'll convert this car, but if I do another I'll find a five speed. What are you running for a rear gear? Jeep XJ/MJ used 3.08 with the AX15, I assume you're running a little more -- maybe a 3.15?
