If you are talking about the rocker arrangement for the bridged heads it is established that they aren't available yet. Andre makes it pretty clear in quotes below that the shaft set-up is in stock, as in "on-the-shelf", for individual rocker stud heads. Aluminum heads like Indy or Edelbrock fall into that category and so Andre's announcement would interest racers it seems to me since shaft conversions for V-8's fall into the "high performance" and "race" category of engine modifications. I don't know about HS rockers being only"entry level" but I do know that anyone using them for AMC stand by their quality. I'd like to think that if vendors AMC are in it for the customer then let's keep it simple at the customer level and sift through the facts from the speculation. HS has been around for 45 plus years, quality vendor's that I've met as a customer stand behind HS as a product, the company has the experience and resources to develop what dicriminating customers want, shaft set-ups are not "entry-level", these shaft kits are available now, and they have have a product warranty. Nick, you mention a"one perch" shaft mount per head. Is this perch the width of the total rocker area? That's about the only way that attachment base would be strong enough or stable enough to control the horizontal rotation of a head's worth of rocker pairs. Any factory perches I've seen( VW, Porsche, Mopar )use two, three, or four separate perches to mount the shaft. Also, why snipe Andre's announcement before any parts even get shipped or before you know the specs on the kit he's selling? I'll go with Andre. Steve Avery Shaft Rockers Date: Saturday, August 13, 2005 12:11 AM From: Nick ALFANO <71amx@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Actually, the shaft rockers that Harland Sharp has talked about making (they are not available yet as previously mentioned) are not a continuous shaft. If they finish them, they will be 4 shafts and 4 perches per head. You will need to bore out the push rod holes in order to use them. A lot of companies say they have a new part before they actually have parts available. They do this to see how much business or interest they can build up before they commit to the investment. As of today, they say they have some work done but don't have the rockers even made for them. Remember when Edlebrock started advertising the Airgap intake more than a year before the first one was even available. Summit had them in there catalog for over 8 months before they had one to sell. My shaft setup, which should be done next week, are on one perch across the head with paired shafts. A single perch helps increase stability and strength. The rockers will also be much stronger than Harland's common shaft style rockers. Don't get me wrong, Harland makes good entry level stuff, but as most racer know, they are not the best option for higher end components. Mine will take over 850lbs on the tip of the rocker and should be good for 30-40 hp over a stamped steel rocker and 15-20 over a standard roller. I have been working on this shaft setup for 6 years now and finally have all the right components together. I will be using my very first set on one of my own engines with a 680 lift solid roller cam. Everything is made in American using the highest grade materials. I will have them at the Cordova meet providing they don't sell out before hand. If you are interested, contact me directly. Buy from AMC guys who will take care of you in the long run. I specialize in one make, AMC, not all makes. I, like Andre and other AMC vendors, care if you are around tomorrow or not when other larger companies don't. We want to see our AMC cars stay on the road. They are in stock and cost is $725. You can even get an off set rocker if needed. Also I have in stock the Flow Kooler performance water pumps. Have a look on my web page in the "NEW PRODUCTS". Andre " A.J." Jacobs Steve These are a continuos shaft. FRANK, come on, the rockers you are talking about have been out a few years now, and are for the BRIDGED PIVOT heads. These are NEW for the individual stud head. They are also making a continuos shaft set up for the bridged heads, which will be better, and stronger then the current pair set up they have. The off set rocker is used when you move a port in a head, making in necessary to move the push rod." Andre " A.J." Jacobs, web page http://southtexasamc.tripod.com (830)-980-3165 , akjamc@xxxxxxxx
