Matt; where do you get drums for $40? In my garage!!! Since everyone is going to discs and tossing their drums I get them for free. Some are good, some are junk and some are like new (I have some 68 Ambos with 40K on em). Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against discs. But I am a cheapskate. I drink Hamms when every one else drinks Corona. I refuse to pay a Valet when I can park myself. And a Portland Road hooker does just as well as the West Salem escort girls. My point is that properly set up drums work just as well as discs under the right conditions. The reason I have heard that AMC did so well in their introductory year of Trans Am is they had good disc brakes where other had drums. They were able to drive harder into the curves, brake later, etc. So yeah, if you are competing, go for the discs. If you drive stop and go alot, the same. Live in Coloado (Western, not Eastern), stay with the discs. But to say that drums are dangerous is just wrong. And by the way, a lot of quarter mile guys like the drums as you can dial in zero drag and run the little drums. They only need to stop once, then cool down........Russ; happily and safely motoring with drums __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
