Thanks to the History channel for featuring AMC in a good light tonight...even if, once again, their fact-checking is woefully inadequate. First, they pointed out that AMC wasn't doing well in the early 70s...and that the Gremlin was...quote....'a bust'. HUH??? I wish all my failures did that well. Still, it was neat to see that Javelin spinning the tires and re-enacting a chase....even if the car wasn't a real ADPS Javelin, but a very pretty clone. The owner, Ed Sanow, is featured in the show, explaining the cop Javelins and their history. But at no time does the show take a moment to say the car is Ed's, and it's actually a '72 AMX made to look like an SST. Heck, it still has its tan AMX corduroy interior where all ADPS SSTs have blue vinyl. Of course, muscle-head Goldberg had to get his little dig in by saying the ADPS drove the 'oddest' police car ever seen. As always...they giveth a wee bit of credit, then take it away. They just can't let the age-old bias go. Luckily, they couldn't alter the fact that no ADPS Javelin was ever outrun in a pursuit. They just said it, then moved on. John
