The 232 auto in the 65 american starts in 2nd and shifts to 3rd, whereas the later ones (starting in '67?) start in 1st and shift normally. You can start the 65 in 1st but the first indent on the tranny is 2nd gear. They were all 3speeds though. Except for my 65 American that is turning into a 2 spd!!! I need to do a quick tranny swap while I am building my 4.o, but my '65 driver is finally showing its age and I need to do something before it dies and strands me. I figure on swapping everything that came off this 69 232 auto that I have sitting here onto the 65s bell housing. Am I going to run into any blocks? I already combined a 68 American wagon tranny onto a 65 Classic 232 and dropped it into my beater 68 post that was stolen and wrecked, I figured on doing the same thing to my driver. Any input???.....Russ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
