Jim, this GC is a 4.0L, right? I'd forget about using that wiring harness and controller and get an XJ/MJ setup. Doesn't have all the fancy anti-theft junk in it or other control boxes -- unless you want some of those "features". I'm pretty sure the Toyota and Volvo has the trans controller built into the engine computer like the 96+ Jeeps. Toy/Vol probably started integrating way before 96. So an XJ/MJ or the aftermarket controller you mentioned will probably be your best bet.
