http://www.artcenter.edu/carclassic/ Yesterday I had the honor of displaying my 1969 AMX at the 2005 Art Center Car Classic show in Pasadena, CA. The Art Center College of Design is known for having a large percentage of the world's car designers go through its doors each year. So when the school goes about hosting its car show each year, it doesn't take too much arm bending of the owners of some of the most rare and most beautifully designed cars in the world to line up for a chance to display their cars at this particular show. For example, at the show yesterday on display were a 1930 Hispano Suiza Boattail Body, a 1927 Bentley 6 1/2 Litre SC Arrow Coupe, a 1928 Auburn 8-90 Boat Tail Speedster, a 1929 Cord, a 1931 Duesenburg, a 1930 Packard, a 1914 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. Included in the mix were Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Porsches, and more! There were a whole lot of cars I had not seen or ever heard of, all beautifully designed cars. The reason I was displaying my 1969 AMX at this show was because Richard Teague, who designed the AMX, was a graduate of the Art School of Design, and the event organizer wanted an AMX on display as an example of an alumnus' designs. As it turned out Richard Teague's son, Jeff Teague, a graduate of the same art school, and has ownership of his father's 1970 AMX/3, was able to pull the AMX/3 out of the Peterson Car Museum in Los Angeles and bring it to the car show and park next to my AMX. It was a honor to meet Jeff Teague and talk to him for a few minutes. He mentioned something about an AMX/4 in the future but we'll have to wait and see! I took a whole lot of pictures at the show but went through them and eliminated some duplicate and boring pictures. Still there are around 150 pictures to click through.
