Nick or Bruce, I assume you guys know O-ringed heads? I've only heard of them. I may have heads that don't match the block... but I don't know crap about this stuff.
The block still has it's O-rings (copper?) in place. I measure 4.175" groove diameter, approx. .150" from the combustion chamber (that's a guess, I didn't measure that).
However, the heads are also O-ring'ed, at 4.225" diameter. That means the block and head o-rings sit right next to each other, .025" apart center-to-center. I didn't measure the O-ring thickness, but it means they probably jam side by side.
