You know, If you think about it. What would prevent someone from simply drilling a large hole in the side of the block and tapping it for a Pipe threaded plug or two?
Then you could fish the lifters out through the holes and not have to pull the head!
Pipe threaded plugs wouldn't weaken the block or look like crap!
