Re: something hitting in the oil pan, was Re: UPDATE: Towing an automatic

Nope, very much in the front section of the pan. There is a small hole that looks like it came from the inside. It kinda sprays a little oil. However, now that I have the car up high on tall jack stands, I can see that the car has been off road or maybe even airborn?! There are signifigant scratches on the engine crossmember and the gas tank is toast. This surprised me because of how tight the car seemed when I drove it around the block. Maybe it is just a big flat dent in the pan? It's hard to tell because of the excess oil covering it. Either way, I have to pull the motor to replace the pan and give everything a once over, maybe even a coat of paint if I feel ambitious. It would be REALLY nice to just swap out the pan and drop it back in place! I'll update this post when I get that far. Right now at 1030am it's already over 100 and yesterday here in Las Vegas we made it to 115! Not much fun to pull motors in a non AC garage!
