Well, I guess I deserved some flaming over my opinion on the drag car Rambler. I didn't mean any offense. I just pictured how neat it would be to have possibly or probably the only breadbox sedan delivery left on the face of the earth! But apparently even the one on ebay isn't authentic, so I guess you can't over-modify a car that didn't exist in the first place! Anyway, the main purpose of my post was the cars auctioned in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The '69 Javelin SST 390/4-speed sold for $17,000. Looking at it before the sale, I thought it would bring $10,000 to $15,000, acknowledging that this was basically a Chevy musclecar auction. The fact that it brought $17,000 is good news to us all that AMC values are on the way up. To beat that, I saw this same car tonight on the Hemmings web site advertised last month for $14,900! The auction buyer should have bought it out of there and saved $2,100, plus the auction commission. Tommy Clayton Caruthersville, Mo. '69 AMX 343/4-spd, #12495
