I'm really going to be in trouble when I put an entirely different dash in my current project. I saved the dash vin number from the crumbling original dash and plan to use a late model Dodge dash(possibly the truck dash I already have). I have seen some cars where the number stayed attached to a tab welded to the windshield frame, but the Javelin vin came off with the dash. I have the title and door vin, so I'm really not fakeing anything or trying to fool anyone, just update the interior. Also there is a new trend to clone your vin number on your newer cars and creating fake titles in another state to cover up a stolen car. They also make new vin tags and resell the cars with your vin number. They don't even have to steal your car, just look at your vin through the windshield and make up new paperwork. I have covered up the vins on my newer trucks so this doesn't happen to me. This was on the news last week where a lady bought a stolen truck from a used car dealer with a cl! oned vin. The car was SUV was taken away by the police. I doubt anyone will be making fake vin tags for our older cars though. Richard Payne Las Vegas 77 ProstreetAMX 72 project Hemi Javelin
