A: My current Comanche is an '87 with the plug. It's possible the one you got the motor from was "re-vinned" after it's first write off. (or it was a stolen recovery. The whole dash unbolts along with the VIN and the underhood firewall numbers and behind the steeringbox stamping are the only thing left to ID the truck besides the other 3 "secret" stampings) From: farna@xxxxxxx Subject: Re: 4.0L basic Intro To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <ADVANCES62oMPNrvj5L0000236d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> That's strange -- my engine came from an 87 model Comanche. Maybe the Comanche used a different harness than the Cherokee? I have an auto trans harness from an 87 or 88 Cherokee with the big plug. The reason for the plug is easy enough to see -- made engine installation much easier. On July 7, 2005 Jim B wrote: > A: Acording to Chrysler news, the 4.0L will be going away in '07.
