To some, all the carpet fitting problems I have had so far may seem small but to an old man with breathing problems and bad arthritis working in 90-95 degree weather this is a real problem for me. I figured I'd spend the extra money and buy a complete carpet kit to make my life and installation as easy as possible. So far 4 out of the 6 pieces needed more than a few hours of modifications "EACH" to make fit properly. I am not going for a show car interior, but just a real nice daily driver that is close to factory, hell factory was no where's near perfect as we all know. The latest problem is I installed the rear seat in my hatchback. The folding back cushion. I used the near mint original black one out of my other Hornet. When they made the carpet for the rear wheel wells they sewed 2 pieces of carpet together, of which it took 3-4 hours to make them fit properly. Now the big bulky seam goes right over the bracket that is welded onto the wheel well for the seat locking mech! anism on each side. It took an hour per side cutting carpet and my one finger and slightly grinding the 2 brackets to make the seat latch properly. I may have to tweak the pass side bracket a touch to make it fit to my liking tomorrow. I just ran out of energy. For me now I am sitting in the A/C trying to re-hydrate, rubbing Aspercream on my bad hurting joints, waiting till it's time to take a perscription pain killer and waiting for the wife to come home from work and give me a hard time about the Hornet interior parts still in the living room. On this carpet deal for me on a hatchback if I had it to do over again I would buy 3 1/2 yards of bulk carpet and do all the pieces myself like I did on my other Hornet that has the 12 point cage in it. It would take just as long and still fit better and cost 1/4-1/3 the price. Maybe the 2 pieces for the drivers compartment will fit without any problem. So far if they did I would be surprised. On the bright side there is only 3 piec! es of interior that is that puke tan left in the car. The dash and the 2 pieces of interior carpet.
