Your 258 is way bigger than the wee 199 in the rambler but fully agree this sucker is choked up bigtime.  I was thinking of making a custom lid that is fully open all the way around but has a tab bent 90deg down at the front to accomodate the breather tube..a turbo muffler in the back to replace the 4' long sucker thats there now should help out too.  I'll report my seat of pants dyno when done.
