The header will "fit" a 199-258 head, but the 4.0L ports are much smaller. It will work, but will restrict flow some. I don't know if it would be any gain over a factory exhaust manifold, but shouldn't be any worse! Port sizes may not match well, but then it'sa better flowing design. The older heads have bigger ports but don't flow as well as better designed 4.0L ports.
