Re: Ya-HOO!

Jim,

How many Naugas did SMS have to kill for that vinyl?

I bought original vinyl for my Javelin bucket seats
last week from SMS and will have a local upholsterer
redo the one worn seat.

I got bad vibes from Legendary interiors. My car has
the cinnamon/buff vinyl interior (code 46S) and
Legendary first of all would not sell just one bucket
seat cover. That's stupid in my opinion. In 1973, as
far as I can tell there was no left or right bucket
seat. They're exactly the same, at least mine are.
Second of all, they weren't sure they had the original
factory color and wanted to send swatches to match.
Thirdly, their email/phone responses to my questions
were really slow. Fourthly, I had ordered a rear
package shelf from them a few months ago and it
arrived damaged because it wasn't packaged well. I
used it anyway, but was disappointed.

I called SMS with the trim code and make mode and year
of the car. A knowlegdeable young lady called me back
the same day and said they had the three types of
material in stock and I got it four days later. Two
of the vinyls are stamped "Naugahyde 73" BTW. My
upholsterer says it was all actually naugahyde back
then but some of it was made my different
manufacturers and wasn't branded Naugahyde.
