I have been offered a '62 Classic for free, and the body is in good enough condition to be a nice looking driver. The transmission is there, but no engine. I have several rebuildable 196s sitting around, but I understand that there is something unique about the '62 version of that engine - perhaps how the crossmember fits under the oil pan or the locations of the engine mounts - that prohibits easily dropping in a 196 from an earlier year. I do not have the '62 here, so I cannot check the locations of the engine mounting points or the location of the crossmember against one of the engines. The engine I would like to drop in is a 1960. I do not want to do an overhaul on that engine only to find out that I have to do a bunch of cutting and welding to get it in to the car! Thanks, guys. - Justin
