Well, it's just a dream anyway. My mind works OT on such things but it's hard to make it reality when life gets in the way. However, one such thought would be to use extra-heavy pressure plate (as in spring pressure) that would give the smaller disk more bite, then overcome the pedal feel by using/adapting a hydraulic clutch setup. 300 hp isn't all that much really if you think about it. I do still like the idea of putting the Mustang V6 T-5 behind a 195.6 like we talked about a couple of yrs ago. That is possible I think with a stock bellhousing, JY trans, but you'd still have to make the ~3/4" adapter plate. The clutch parts, as you mentioned, are probably off-the-shelf but would take some savvy mix'n'match at the counter. Nothing fancy would be required for a stock or near stock setup. The extra gears plus an appropriate rear end ratio would probably make that combination a joy to drive with the good torque/low rpm usage of the 195.6 OHV. I have that extra '65 American 440 HT that's sitting dead in the garage at my rental house that I've had no success selling, and have toyed with either doing the 195.6/T5 combo, or a 360/390/401 with whatever trans combo. Need to drag that thing home. I really don't need another hot rod, as the '69 will be that when it's done, so the old six/5 sp combo would great gas mileage and unique and with hop-up possibilities should I choose to tinker. We need to get an adapter plate made! You had a good idea on that Andrew, need to draw up another drawing and see what it takes to have one fabbed up. I don't have the right T5 trans, but I do have extra bellhousings and a rebuilt engine.
