i'm debugging my voltage regulator problem ['68 american 199 moto alt]. the old reg overcharged at ~18v; three new regs don't do a thing. so i thought i'd trace the wires. +12 on the yellow at the reg. continuity on the green [field] from reg to alt. i go to pull the black [ground] off the alt and the wire snaps at the connector! i think all that was holding it was brittle insulation; this could be my problem... btw the black wire had continuity too. i have plenty of wire to attach a new connector to, but not enough of the molded-on connector to attach. anyone know where i can get one? it's a friction push-on to the ground stud. my local advance was no help; haven't tried the three other places within walking distance yet. i couldn't test the orange wire; the connector was frozen onto the alt so tight i couldn't budge it with my fingers. is this right? ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought
