but v8 springs are considerably stiffer; you'd expect them to be
shorter so that they give the same installed height.

having said that, i thought i saw specs for early jav rear springs
that showed 1" less arch than american ones.  i've wondered if it was
a typo, but maybe stock jav springs are an easy way to lower your
american?
