Where did May go? It has finally gotten warm here in lower N.Y. but it is still very wet. My Hornet has been in my friends shop since the middle of Feb. Boy I sure miss driving it. After working on the mechanicals for 16 months it became a real nice driver. It looks like it will be another 4-6 weeks till I get all the interior work I am doing done and then the car has to go to the upholstery shop for the seats to be done. This week I am finishing up all the work in the hatch area. I even finally got around to fixing the hinge on the rear licence plate that was digging into the rear rubber bumper filler. It was toast so I didn't care. I picked up nice filler in a batch of parts I bought a few months ago and it is even the same color as my car. This interior job is going real slow due to my poor health. A few years ago I could have knocked a job like this out start to finish in 3 months. It's time I get this car back on the road for the summer as it is the only one of my 3 car! s that has working A/C. After working on the car for 2-4 hours at my friends shop I now am coming home to sew the carpet edge binding on the now trimmed to fit properly hatch area carpet. I forgot what a pain that is. I will work on that 1-2 hours each day till it is done. I hope the carpet for the pass. compt. fits better than the hatch area pieces. The last real job will to swap out the old cracked, warped just plain crappy dash. I got a really nice almost perfect one from Tom Jennings last week. It just needs a cote of SEM to make it black. I also have a real nice black crash pad. Have a good day all, I am off to my friends shop for a few hours of work on the car.
