I have recently blew another ignition condenser, which would be the 2nd in under 2 years. What would make them go out?
Could be coil type, but probably just low quality! I suppose I should start saving old points condensers, sigh...
(Condensers absorb a bit of the coil energy while the points are opening to minimize burning them.)
Condensers generally don't wear out, but the insulator inside could get distressed I suppose then have a 'punch through; failure where they short out.
