Tom, first oil floats on water, you would need over 2 gals of water to get into the mains (Push the oil above the mains into the piston holes one gal of water would coat the mains with oil..not water..). If you think you have enough water to get into the mains, then pour in about 5 gals of diesel fuel to flush out the water and coat the mains if you are going to let it set for some time so it doesn't start rusting. Make sure you fill the new oil filter with oil, and check the oil pump to insure that no water is in it to stop it from getting suction, some books state to oil the pump very good, others state to pack it with petroleum jelly so it picks up oil pressure faster. I have seen people pull trucks across the Rio Grande River between Texas and Mexico with horses, all they do is drain the oil from the engine, tranny, and rear end. after they get to the other side they pull the plugs again let what water out that leaked in and pore the oils back and run off on there way........... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Jennings" <tomj@xxxxxxx> To: "AMC List" <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 27, 2005 7:56 PM Subject: water in crankcase... stupid question...
