Most incredible Pacer Wagon I've seen in years! Interest?

Driving through the Middle of Nowhere MO and saw a
Silver Pacer Wagon sitting for sale in a Parking lot.
It looked good from a distance, good from the lot and
great up close. I LOVE these cars (the Wags better
than the Sedans) but I can't bring home another Car
that my wife hates for this kind of money! $2900, but
it looks like a bargain.

This car is obviously original, 50,000 miles and I was
surprised it had that many! THough the paint is a
little faded and there are some "scrubs" on the
drivers side, it looks like a good buffing or maybe
compounding would really bring it out.

The most amazing thing was the interior... a clean
blue... though it could use detailing. I was shocked
that the doors had no sag at all and the seats no
tears. It almost brought me to tears (the ones from
my eyes, not ripping the upholstery).

The engine bay looked undetailed but well maintained.
(258 Auto).

The place was closed when I went by. I am driving my
truck (picking up a 304 COmmando drivetrain in KS) so
I did not have my digital camera.... BLAHST!

I asked a person nearby if they knew the story and
they said it belonged to a lady who had been put in a
nursing home in Billings (about 20 miles away). The
car had always been stored... she was old when she
bought it and REALLY old when she died. No stories
about groceries and Church but she didn't drive much!

This guy selling it bought it as part of her Estate
and is just looking to spin it (a non-AMC guy). If
any of you are seriously interested (the rumor is the
guy won't move on price as he was offered $2500 and
wouldn't take it) I will drive back out and take some
pics.

It's about a 2 hour round trip for me, so I don't want
to do it if it's not going to help get this in the
hands of a real AMC person. I just can't stand the
thought of someone buying this for their teenager and
them taking it mudrunning or something. It won't be
until sometime next week before I could get back
there, though.

I forgot to look at the year, but it has the hump in
the middle of the nose.

This may be one of those classics without a following
(like the 68 Ambo SST I ended up dumping last year)
but I hope not. Although I wouldn't call it concours
as there are things I don't get about that mentality,
I can say that I would polish this puppy and head for
the car shows.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend,

Jesse
