I know it's only been a day, but you and Jim are the only two that tried, and both are wrong. If this had been easy I wouldn't have posted though! The problem was HEAT. A motorcycle brake MC only squirts a few cc's of fluid with every stroke. It's amazing that the thing will supply two calipers and stop a bike! Bench bleeding is a real pain because of the small amount of fluid. It's like a small 25 cent squirt gun (well, back in the day...). A Windex bottle squirts about four times the liquid in a single stroke. The calipers are aluminum, painted black, front and back. The MC and reservoir, including cover, are also painted black. The real puzzler here is the rear caliper and MC are practically the same but unaffected. But the front MC and calipers sit in the open, the back MC is totally covered and the rear caliper close enough to the tire that's it's pretty well shaded. The sun beats on at least one front caliper and the MC. Silicone fluid expands slightly with heat. Warm Georgia summer parked on black asphalt. Took me a couple weeks (driving bike daily) to figure out. Had a couple cloudy days, so they would be locked one day, tight but would rotate the next, okay one or two days one week, etc. When they were a little tight but the wheel would move they would loosen up after driving, which made no sense at all! I checked the pads and there was no abnormal wear. I only had a five minute ride to go home, so if they were dragging I'd run home and could feel them loosen up about halfw! ay there. I expected to find the pads worn down after a month, but no noticeable wear! The air circulation of riding even 2-3 minutes cooled everything back down and the fluid returned to it's normal state!!
